DESIGN AND DEVELOP OPEN ACCCESS INSTUTIONAL REPOSTORY SYSTEM FOR JIKNA UNIVERESITY

Abstract

The rapid development in Information and communication technology (ICT) has broken barriers to information and open a new way for scholars in higher education institutions to communicate and disseminate their research findings. Design and development digital access of institutional repositories in Jinka University is used as an effort to capture research results produced by their scholars. However, there limited accesses on satisfaction of users towards institutional repositories in JKU and users’ satisfaction have not been developed. The aim of this project is to Design and develop digital access of institutional repositories that will explore the current manual usage of research studies in Jinka University using conceptual framework uses the MVC design pattern and it is the combination of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. MySQL. The study reviewed literature on open access institutional repository and user satisfaction. The results will fully support the effect of the quality antecedents ‘towards digital access of institutional repository system in Jinka University. The study will conclude and recommend that the university library and other stakeholders including the management of the university should promote the availability and accessibility of thesis and dissertations and related services to make the system better. Furthermore, In order to make the system more usable by users, design modification is a needed.
